Pumpkin Puree!

Happy Friday… uh, almost Saturday to you! Today I decided to cook off one of our many pumpkins… and remembered that I’ve spoken with a few people who didn’t know how to do this. So… I thought I’d give a quick tutorial!

First, get a pumpkin (Imagine That!) and Preheat your oven to 400 degrees:

Next, you are going to cut it in half, and scrap out all the seeds and stringy insides:

Now, you can either save the seeds or pitch them… we opted to save them and will try to roast them tomorrow:

Ok, now, slice the pumpkin up… it doesn’t really matter the sizes. Line a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with foil (there will be some fluids) and place your slices (single layer please!) and bake for 40 minutes. Remove from oven, let cool until you can handle the slices… at this point you will remove the rind (I use my wonderful Rada knife for this), and toss the slices into your food processor. Blend until everything is SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH! And… Voila! You are finished and how have tons of pumpkin puree for this Fall Season!

Sorry this picture isn’t the greatest.. but I forgot to snap it while the sunshine was out, so I had to use my flash! 😛 Enjoy!
