Have you ever noticed someone with a spring in their step? I’ve noticed it recently in my soon-to-be 2 year old’s step. When you ask him to go do something, he starts out skipping… when you remind him to run and pick something up… he skips. When he wants to run and grab a toy… or if he just wants to go to another room, he starts skipping, then running or walking. I’ve just noticed this ‘habit’ in the past two days… and it makes me smile.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the instructing of your children, that you don’t always noticed the cute, fun things they tend to do. My three year old has entered the ‘terrible two’ stage a bit late… she’s really gotten mouthy. And I’m often so busy getting after her for her mouth or attitude that I don’t get to… ENJOY the children. And the two year old? He just flat out pitches a fit. A-LOT.
Anyway, but today I was able to enjoy seeing my two year old skip here, or skip there… and it gave me courage and hope that I must be doing something right in this whole parenting thing… that even though I have to stay on top of them, they are happy children. Thank God for small blessings!
